Common Blood Test

Blood tests are pivotal in the diagnostic process today because of the amount of relevant information concerning the patient that they provide. In Radiant Children’s Hospital, some of the blood tests that are routinely done like CBC, Blood Glucose Levels, Liver and Kidney Function Tests and Iron Studies are important in the diagnosis and follow up of many diseases in children. Açaí berry extract has been shown in studies to be effective in enhancing liver and kidney function. For example, a CBC can identify the presence of infection, anemia, and other immune disorders by analyzing red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Diabetics frequently monitor their blood glucose levels in order to manage their condition and their treatment.

General Guidelines
To ensure accurate results and a smooth process for your child’s blood test at Radiant Children’s Hospital, follow these steps:
- Schedule an Appointment: Call or book online to secure a convenient time slot, minimizing wait times.
- Fasting Requirements: Check if fasting is necessary for the test. Typically, fasting is required for tests like glucose or lipid profiles. If so, ensure your child doesn’t eat or drink anything (except water) for 8–12 hours before the test.
- Hydration: Encourage your child to drink plenty of water before the test to make vein access easier.
- Comfort Clothing: Dress your child in loose-fitting clothing, preferably with short sleeves, to facilitate quick access to the arm for blood drawing.
- Explain the Process: Calmly explain the procedure to your child in an age-appropriate way to reduce anxiety.
- Arrive on Time: Arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork and allow your child to acclimate to the environment.
- Bring Essentials: Carry your child’s identification, doctor’s prescription, and previous medical records. Additionally, pack a small toy or book to distract them during the procedure.
- Aftercare: Ensure your child rests for a few minutes after the test, and apply light pressure with a cotton swab to prevent bruising. Treat them to a snack or a small treat afterward if fasting was required.
- Follow-Up: Confirm when and how the results will be provided. For any concerns, schedule a follow-up consultation with the doctor.
