What is infertility?
Infertility is when one is having any problem in getting pregnant or staying pregnant. Fertility problems can happen in people of all genders, and can have many causes.
Causes of infertility in women
- Problems with your uterus: This includes uterine Polyps, Fibroids or adhesions (scarring) inside the uterus. Polyps and fibroids can be formed anytime on their own. Adhesions can form after a surgery like Dilation and Curettage.
- Problems with your fallopian tubes: The most common cause of “tubal factor” infertility is Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). Untreated Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Endometriosis can also cause scarring to fallopian tubes.
- Problems with ovulation: Hormonal Imbalance, bad eating habits, thyroid conditions, stress and pituitary tumors can effect ovulation.
